Because I'm in the environmental sector, people have asked me about which plastics are good for you and which are not-so-good. Ultimately, plastic is in our lives and it will probably stay that way - the only thing we can do is be informed, choose which products we want to use (hopefully it's the safer ones) and get those manufacturers to change their ways. I'm amazed at how seasonal merchandise is sold at stores earlier and earlier each year. For instance, stores seem to have merged back-to-school supplies with Halloween candy, while Santa Claus and all of his merry tidings have arrived just in time to attend otherwise ghoulish Halloween parties. Eventually what will happen is that every Walmart will turn into year-round Christmas shops like the ones you find in pretty tourist towns like Niagara-on-the-Lake.
