Because I'm in the environmental sector, people have asked me about which plastics are good for you and which are not-so-good. Ultimately, plastic is in our lives and it will probably stay that way - the only thing we can do is be informed, choose which products we want to use (hopefully it's the safer ones) and get those manufacturers to change their ways. Plastics 1, 2, 4, 5 are safer us, while plastics 3, 6, 7 should be avoided.
There have also been a lot of stories in the news lately about the safety of baby bottles. For people with little ones who are more vulnerable to environmental toxins than adults, the above resource also includes lists of products that are safer for your children.
